AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn’s Anna Davis and Casey Weidenfeld are set to compete in the sixth annual Augusta National Women’s Amateur, which will take place Wednesday through Saturday at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans, Georgia, and historic Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. This will be the fourth appearance in the event for Davis and the second for Weidenfeld.
Davis received an invitation to this year’s event through the exemption of being a previous champion within the last five years. The Auburn sophomore won the event in 2022 at the age of 16 prior to her time on the Plains. In that tournament, Davis fired a 1-under 215 including a 69 on the final day at Augusta National to win the event by one stroke over Ingrid Lindblad and Latanna Stone.
Davis has followed up her WGCA All-Freshman season in 2023 with more impressive performances during the 2024-25 campaign. The Spring Valley, California native has been named SEC Player of the Week three times this season and has won twice at the Illini Invitational at Medinah and the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Invitational.
Davis won the Charles Schwab, Auburn’s most recent team event, by one stroke with a 54-hole score of 201 (-9), which set the record for lowest in program history. The sophomore followed two under-par rounds with a bogey-free round of 6-under (64) with six birdies on the final day. Davis also shot 64 (-7) in the opening round of the Schooner Fall Classic in September.
Weidenfeld will participate in the tournament for the second time after posting a top five finish in last year’s event. The Auburn redshirt junior carded a 2-under 70 in the final round and her 54-hole total of 214 (-2) resulted in a tie for fifth place finish in her first time competing in the event.
The Pembroke Pines, Florida native’s final round was highlighted by three consecutive close approaches that led to birdies on holes No. 13, No. 14 and No. 15 at Augusta National. Her finish marked the highest for an Auburn player behind only Davis’ win in 2022.

The first two rounds of the prestigious event will be held at Champions Retreat Golf Club on Wednesday and Thursday with the full field of 72 amateur players. A cut will take place after 36 holes with the leading 30 players and ties advancing. After all players have the opportunity to play an official practice round at Augusta National Golf Club on Friday, the final round will take place at Augusta National on Saturday.
Provided she remain an amateur, the Augusta National Women’s Amateur Champion will receive an invitation to the next five editions of the event, the U.S. Women’s Open, the AIG Women’s Open, the Chevron Championship, the Evian Championship and any USGA, R&A and PGA of America amateur championships for which she is eligible for one year.
The first and second rounds of the ANWA will be broadcast live on Golf Channel from 12:30-2:30 p.m. CT while NBC will broadcast three hours of Saturday’s final round beginning at 11 a.m. CT. Live scoring of the tournament will also be available online at ANWAgolf.com.
