Auburn will have a limited squad competing this weekend as five athletes make the trip to Texas including multi-athlete John Murray, jumper Aaron Davis II and pole vaulters Alyssa Quinones-Mixon, Rhiannon Held and Brooke Walden

“This is primarily a meet we’ve circled for our multis event athletes,” Auburn track & field head coach Leroy Burrell said. “We're looking forward to getting a few things done with John, Aaron, and the vaulters.”

Auburn will be joined by 31 schools, including No. 3/1 Georgia, No. 23/NR Houston, Mississippi State, No. 13/7 Oklahoma, No. 11/21 Texas Tech and host No. 1/3 Texas A&M.

Senior Murray currently sits at No. 4 on Auburn’s Top 10 List for the decathlon. He has competed in four events this outdoor season, finishing in the top 15 for each. He claimed fifth in javelin throw (54.69m), tenth in long jump (6.82m), 11th in 110m hurdles (15.06) and 15th in discus throw (42.99m).

Humble, Texas native Davis looks to improve upon his long jump performance for the Tigers. Making his outdoor debut for the Tigers, he finished third overall at the Terry Long FSU Relays. His collegiate best mark of 7.65m is No. 5 in the conference and No. 14 in the nation.

Also hailing from Texas is indoor pole vault record holder Quinones-Mixon. The All-American opened her 2025 outdoor campaign with a win at the Yellow Jacket Invitational (4.10m) and holds the No. 7 mark in the SEC.

At her last outing, senior Held delivered a season’s best performance at the Pepsi Florida Relays to finish sixth overall (4.05m).

Sophomore Walden is looking to make her outdoor season debut for the Tigers. She currently holds the sixth best mark in program history.

The Tigers enter the weekend fresh off a solid meet at the relays last week in Gainesville with two event wins, 11 Auburn Top 10 All-Time Performances, 13 collegiate personal bests and one freshman record.

In the most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association poll, the men are ranked No. 25, and the women are No. 15.
