The Tigers took gold in seven different events and had 19 collegiate personal best performances on Saturday. Highlighting the performance of the throwers on the men’s side was senior Kyle Brown. Brown took gold in the men’s hammer throw with a personal best performance (68.79). His mark placed him at No. 15 in the NCAA and No. 3 on Auburn’s Top 10 List in the event.
Fellow senior Kyle Moison had a season’s best outing, finishing third (65.86m) in hammer throw.
Junior Matthew Rueff finished fourth overall in shot put (19.07m). His personal best mark places him at the No. 4 spot on the Auburn Top 10 List and is No. 10 in the conference.
Austell, Georgia native Seth Allen took silver in discus throw with a mark of 59.44m.
In men’s shot put, junior Matthew Rueff and senior John Murray gave the best performances of their collegiate careers. With a mark of 19.07m, Rueff placed fourth overall, also securing the fourth furthest throw in Auburn history. Murray best throw came from his first attempt, and he placed seventh with a mark of 16.64m.
The sprints also delivered a solid outing as juniors Azeem Fahmi and Ian Myers won their respective events. In the 100m dash, Fahmi ran a season’s best time of 10.28. Racing in the 200m, Myers ran a collegiate best time of 20.51, delivering the 13th fastest time in the NCAA this year.
On the women’s side of sprints, sophomore Ana-Liese Torian was the first to cross the finish line in the women’s 100m hurdles, running 13.03.
In the women’s 100m dash, Chante Clinkscale ran 11.34 to finish second overall, the 21st fastest time in the NCAA this year. She also competed in the 200m, running 23.36, a season’s best performance.
In women’s pole vault, junior Alyssa Quinones-Mixon finished first overall for the second time this outdoor season. She cleared 4.24m on her first attempt, securing her spot at the top of the podium. Senior Rhiannon Held cleared 3.94m to place fourth and freshman Ansley Murphy delivered a collegiate best performance (3.64m).
For the throws on the women’s side, shot put school record holder Megan Hague finished second overall with a mark of 17.13m. Competing in the event outdoors for the first time of her collegiate career, Adrienne Adams threw 12.12m.
In discus throw, the Tigers finished second through fifth. Senior Adrienne Adams claimed silver (55.46m), freshman Camryn Massey had a personal best throw of 54.18m to claim bronze, senior Maura Huwalt finished fourth (52.60m) and junior Megan Hague rounded out the top 5 with a PR of 51.83m.
On the distance side for the women, senior Samantha Rogers won her second 1500m race in two weeks. The Auburn, Alabama native ran 4:19.94 to take the top spot on the podium and the eighth fastest time in program history.
Sophomore Audrey Dunn delivered a massive PR in the 1500m (4:30.76), beating her previous personal best time by over 13 seconds. Sophomore Shelby Balding and junior Hailey Howard also ran personal bests, finishing 8th (4:37.84) and 11th (4:38.43).
Sophomore Cady McPhail ran a season’s best time of 2:09.35 in the 800m to take gold. Fellow sophomore, Saniya Mathew, ran a collegiate best time of 2:19.32 in the race.
In the 1500m for the men, sophomore Max Hardin finished second overall (3:42.66) and senior Cooper Atkins placed fifth (3:43.56). Benson Atkins and Joseph Perry picked up PRs in the race, placing 11th (3:55.69) and 12th (3:56.29), respectively.
In long jump, sophomores Jay Avery and Shonedra Richardson claimed bronze on both the men’s and women’s side. Richardson delivered a season’s best mark of 6.10m and Avery’s best jump came from his third attempt (7.34m).
Other notable performances came by way of senior John Murray who had a collegiate best mark in shot put (16.46m).
