EVANS, Ga. – Auburn sophomore Anna Davis carded a 36-hole score of 2-under (142) to make the cut on Thursday at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans, Georgia. Davis is one of 32 players in the 72-player field who have earned the opportunity to compete in the final round at historic Augusta National Golf Club on Saturday.

“I’m very excited to play on Saturday,” Davis said after the round. “That was the goal—to get to play a Saturday round at Augusta.

“It was a grind today, a very up-and-down round. My lag putting was great, but my proximity to the hole was not good. Tidying up the irons a little bit would be good. My putting feels great, chipping is good and driving is good.”

Davis has now made the cut for the second time in four appearances at the event, the last being in 2022 when she won the tournament at age 16 before her time on the Plains. An active Auburn player has now reached the final round each of the last three years: Megan Schofill in 2023, Casey Weidenfeld in 2024 and Davis in 2025.

The Spring Valley, California, native will begin the final round seven strokes behind tournament co-leaders Kiara Romero and Lottie Woad.

During the first round Wednesday, Davis bounced back from a bogey on No. 5 with back-to-back birdies to reach 1-under. She recorded two more birdies on the back nine at Champions Retreat, including one after a close approach on the par-4 15th hole, to shoot 3-under 69.

The Auburn sophomore started her second round strong, nearly recording an ace on the par-3 11th hole, her second hole of the day, which led to a birdie. She played consistently the rest of the round, carding a 1-over 73.

Casey Weidenfeld, the other Tiger invited to the prestigious event, missed the cut after posting a 36-hole score of 4-over 148. After being 3-over through her first six holes in the opening round, Weidenfeld battled back to shoot even-par 72 on Wednesday. She then carded a 4-over 76 on Thursday.

Coverage of Saturday’s final round will begin at 11 a.m. CT on NBC and Peacock, while live scoring will be available at ANWAGolf.com.
