AUGUSTA, Ga. – Auburn sophomore Anna Davis finished in a tie for 11th place at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur on Saturday after shooting 4-under 212 over three rounds. After making the 36-hole cut on Thursday, Davis carded a final round 2-under 70 at historic Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.

“I just hit a lot of greens today and gave myself a lot of birdie opportunities,” Davis said after the round. “Didn’t make a lot of them, but it was a consistent round. It was an easy 2-under, which was nice.”

Davis, who won the event in 2022 prior to beginning her collegiate career, recorded the third-best finish by an Auburn golfer in the tournament’s history behind Casey Weidenfeld’s tie for fifth in 2024 and her own victory in 2022. Auburn has now had an active player reach the final round of the tournament in three consecutive years.

In Saturday’s round, Davis bounced back from an early bogey on No. 3 by chipping in from a bunker on the par-3 sixth hole and carding a birdie on No. 7. After a bogey on No. 12, she birdied the 14th to get to 1-under for the round.

On the iconic par-3 16th at Augusta National, the Spring Valley, California, native’s tee shot rolled down the slope of the green to within a few feet of the back-left pin location, setting up a short birdie. Davis then recorded pars on each of the final two holes to finish her round at 2-under.

“It was a good shot,” Davis said of her tee shot on No. 16. “That’s exactly where they put the pin when I won, so I was very familiar with the shot. I hit a draw into the slope and it came right down.”

Davis has now recorded an under-par round in both of her competitive appearances at Augusta National Golf Club, having shot a 3-under 69 in the final round during her 2022 victory.

Auburn sophomore Casey Weidenfeld also participated in this year's event, but missed the 36-hole cut after Thursday's second round.

Carla Bernat Escuder won the tournament at 12-under 204 over three rounds, closing with a 4-under 68 on Saturday.
