AUBURN, Ala. – Behind one of the best freshman campaigns recorded by Tiger, Auburn softball’s AnnaLea Adams was named to D1 Softball’s Freshman All-America Second Team, the publication announced Thursday.
The honor is just one of many accolades the Liberty, Indiana, native has collected this postseason. Earlier this month, Adams became the first Auburn freshman to earn All-SEC First Team honors. She also added 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Gulf Region First Team honors to become the first Auburn freshman to do so since Kasey Cooper in 2014.
Appearing in 50 games and earning 43 starts in her debut season, Adams topped the team with a .390 batting average, the second highest mark ever recorded by a Tiger freshman. Her average ranks the 14th highest in the SEC ahead of the Women’s College World Series and was the second highest average recorded by a SEC true freshman this season.
She totaled 57 hits, the most by a Tiger freshman since Kasey Cooper in 2014, and ultimately finished tied for fifth in Auburn freshman history. She added 21 runs and 41 RBI, which was tied for the third most RBI recorded by a Tiger freshman.
Adams was just the fourth Auburn freshman in program history to slug 10 or more home runs during their rookie season. She closed the year with 10 home runs and nine doubles for a .658 slugging clip, the third highest slugging percentage recorded by an Auburn freshman.
The freshman struck out just 14 times across her 146 at bats. With 10 walks and a pair of hit by pitches, she built a .434 on-base percentage.
Splitting time at first base and as the designated player, Adams recorded a .988 fielding percentage after committing just a pair of errors in 162 chances.
Despite not playing nine games, Adams concluded the season as the team leader in batting average and slugging percentage while ranking in the top three on the team in on-base percentage, runs scored, hits, RBI, doubles, home runs and total bases (96).
