NAIRN, SCOTLAND – Auburn sophomore Anna Davis has advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 2025 R&A Women’s Amateur, which will be played on Saturday at Nairn Golf Club in Nairn, Scotland.

“I’ve been playing some good golf this week, so it feels good,” said Davis. “Getting used to the links style hasn’t always been my favorite. It’s been a little windy this week, so I’m just managing the conditions and I think I’ve done a good job of that. I’ve played this kind of golf before but I feel like it’s just so different that what (Americans) play. It takes a few rounds to get used to. It’s a lot of mentally preparing yourself that it’s going to be a different game over here, but it’s fun.””

Davis got off to a hot start during the stroke play portion of the championship, firing an opening round 69 (-3), before finishi

ng the 36 holes of stroke play at 3-over (147) and being one of the 64 players to advance to the match play portion of the event.

In the first round of match play on Thursday, Davis defeated Jessica Hall 4&3 before defeating Havanna Torstensson by the same score in the second-round matchup on Friday.

In Friday’s round of 16 match, Ebba Nordstedt of Kansas jumped out to an early 3-up lead over Davis through the first three holes of the match. The two then traded wins on holes No. 5 and No. 6 before Davis made birdie on the par-5 seventh hole to cut the deficit to 2-down. The Auburn sophomore then claimed wins on No. 9, No. 10 and No. 13 to take a 1-up lead. The two then halved the remaining holes, leading to a 1-up win for Davis.

Davis will face Vanderbilt’s Tillie Claggett in the quarterfinal match at 2:20 a.m. CT. If Davis advances to the semifinal round, it is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. CT on Saturday.
