AUBURN, Ala. — Cameron “Fizz” Hutton, a standout, blue-collar midfielder from the junior college ranks, has joined the Auburn soccer program with three years of eligibility remaining, head coach James Armstrong announced Thursday.

“We are excited to welcome Fizz to our Auburn soccer family,” Armstrong said. “We have focused a lot on the attacking side in the portal, so it is nice to get someone of her potential to our midfield group. She has natural ability and is strong and powerful. She has been waiting for an opportunity to showcase this at the next level, and she will get that here at Auburn.”

A native of Lytle, Texas, Hutton competed in basketball, volleyball, track and softball while at Lytle High School, where she was awarded All-Academic Athlete honors all four years. She later attended Dallas Christian College as a member of its women’s basketball team before transferring to Trinity Valley Community College for soccer.

“Coming to Auburn is a dream come true,” Hutton said. “I’m excited to grow both on and off the field, challenging myself physically through high-level soccer and mentally as I adjust to life on my own, far from home. I’m ready to step out of my comfort zone, embrace new experiences and make the most of this incredible opportunity.”

While at TVCC, Hutton was named to the All-Southwest Region and a Second Team Academic All-American while making both the Dean’s List and President’s List. She plans to study criminology while at Auburn.

In the summer, Hutton laces up in the WPSL for Corinthians FC of San Antonio.
