GREENSBORO, N.C. – Led by head coach Butch Thompson, Auburn baseball was named a recipient of the American Baseball Coaches Association’s 2024-25 Team Academic Excellence Award.
It marks the second straight season Auburn has earned the recognition, and the Tigers are one of 10 Southeastern Conference programs to earn the distinction.
The award honors high school and college programs coached by a current ABCA member that achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the 2024-25 academic year.
The Tigers turned in a program-record 3.22 GPA for 2024-25. Twenty-nine players turned in a GPA of 3.0 or higher, including 10 players with a 3.5 GPA and two with a 4.0. Additionally, 15 players were named to the 2023-24 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll and 16 were named to the 2025 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll.
