AUBURN, Ala.Senior first baseman Cooper McMurray has signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Atlanta Braves, becoming the 11th member of the 2025 Tigers to get an opportunity in professional baseball.

McMurray is the fourth Auburn player to sign a free agent deal following the draft, joining Carson Myers (Toronto), Deric Fabian (Colorado) and Parker Carlson (New York Mets). Along with the quartet of free agents, Auburn had seven players selected in the draft, tied for the third highest total in program history.

Auburn’s only player to play and start in all 61 games this season, McMurray finished his final year with a career-high .326 average, 30 points higher than he hit in any other season. He led the team and registered career highs with 19 doubles and 59 RBI and hit 14 home runs for the third straight season, good for second on the team.

A three-year letterwinner after beginning his career at Kansas, McMurray turned in a .303 average with 166 hits, including 38 doubles and 42 home runs, and drove in 164 runs in 156 games at Auburn. His 42 home runs are good for sixth most in program history, including the most since 2010, and he became the fourth player in program history to hit double digit home runs in three straight seasons.
