BRANDON, Ore. - Auburn junior Anna Davis will make her fourth career appearance in the U.S. Women’s Amateur on Monday at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Oregon. Davis has found success in the prestigious amateur event, reaching the quarterfinals in each of the last two years.
The winner of the event will receive a gold medal and custody of the Robert Cox Trophy for one year, along with exemptions into the 2026 U.S. Women’s Open and the next 10 U.S. Women’s Amateurs, if eligible, as well as an invitation to the 2026 Augusta National Women’s Amateur and likely spots in the fields at three additional women’s golf majors.
At last season’s U.S. Women’s Amateur at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Davis finished stroke play tied for ninth to advance to match play. She then defeated Rebecca Skoler, Mara Janess and Anna Morgan before falling in the quarterfinals. In 2023, she also advanced to the quarterfinals before dropping a match to Megan Schofill, who went on to become the first Auburn player to win a U.S. Women’s Amateur title.
In her sophomore season of collegiate golf in 2024-25, Davis earned two individual victories — the Charles Schwab Collegiate Invitational and the Illini Invitational at Medinah. She was named first-team All-SEC and earned second-team All-America honors from both the WGCA and Golfweek. The 2022 Augusta National Women’s Amateur champion led the Tigers last season in scoring average (70.41), birdies (91), eagles (5) and rounds under par (13).
In June, Davis reached the quarterfinals of the R&A Women’s Amateur at Nairn Golf Club in Nairn, Scotland. She will enter Monday’s round with a World Amateur Golf Ranking of No. 13.
Bandon Dunes will play as a par-72 course measuring 6,310 yards. While the course has never hosted a U.S. Women’s Amateur, it staged the U.S. Amateur in 2020 and the Curtis Cup in 2006.
The first two rounds of this year’s tournament, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, will be stroke play. After 36 holes, the top 64 players will advance to match play, with a playoff conducted if needed to reach exactly 64 players. The six rounds of match play will be contested Wednesday through Sunday.
Golf Channel will carry match play coverage from 5 to 8 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Coverage will continue with the semifinals Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. CT and the championship match Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. CT. Live scoring of the tournament will be available at USGA.org.
