AUBURN, Ala. – Men’s tennis is set to begin its fall 2025 schedule at the Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic Friday through Sunday at Lagoon Park Tennis Center in Montgomery, Alabama.
Each team will have four players represented, split into two pairs. Each school will have their doubles team compete against another school’s doubles team, then the players from that match will play two singles matches. The school that wins two of the three matches will advance in the draw.
Auburn will be represented by two pairs: Jake Kennedy and Joey Phillips as well as Nicholas Heng and Freddy Blaydes. Blaydes will be making his first appearance as a Tiger in the event. Phillips and Kennedy will face Edoardo Cherie Ligniere and Yannic Nittmann of Clemson in the first round of the tournament on Friday morning while Nicholas Heng and Freddy Blaydes will begin the event against Hady El-Kordy and Andres Delgadillo of Tulane.
Auburn will be joined in the event by players from Alabama, Boise State, Clemson, Georgia Tech, North Alabama, Rice and Tulane.
Live scoring of the tournament will be available at bluegraytennis.com and results will be made available at wearecollegetennis.com.
The Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic has been played for over 70 years. For the first time in 30 years, the event will be played as a fall individual event rather than a spring team event. Auburn won the tournament as a team in 2023.
