AUBURN, Ala. – Following an impressive non-conference showing, Auburn (9-2, 0-0) begins its SEC campaign with in-state rival Alabama (8-2, 0-0) on Friday, Sept. 26, inside Neville Arena.
First serve is slated for 6 p.m. CT and doors will open at 5 p.m. For those unable to make it to the Plains, the match will be broadcast live on the SEC Network. Anne Marie Anderson and Leah Edmond will have the call.
QUICK HITS
Auburn's blocking unit has been simply dynamic in 2025. Entering Friday's matchup, the Tigers are averaging 3.26 blocks per set. The mark is No. 1 in the Southeastern Conference and No. 2 in the nation.
Sophomore middle blocker Kate Mansfield has been responsible for most of the damage. The Cal transfer put up a career-high 11 rejections in Auburn's win over South Alabama. Her 1.70 blocks per set is the second-best average in the SEC and No. 6 in the country.
The Tigers' 20 blocks against the Jaguars set a program record for the most blocks in a single match. Added with the 17.0 blocks versus Florida State, the most in a three-set match, head coach Brent Crouch's crew has knocked down two program records before the start of conference play.
Lauren Dreves has been equally impressive on the outside. The sophomore from Vancouver, Washington has tallied at least 15 kills in four straight matches and has reached double digits in 10 of the 11 matches in 2025. Her 15 digs against South Alabama signaled her second double-double of the season. Dreves is averaging single-season career highs in kills per set (3.92), hitting percentage (.305) and points per set (4.35).

SCOUTING ALABAMA
In her fourth season at Alabama, head coach Rashinda Reed brings a Crimson Tide team with an 8-2 record to the Plains.
Alabama has proven to be one of the better serving teams through non-conference play, averaging 2.36 aces per set. The mark is tops in the SEC and No. 6 in the nation. Setter Hannah Parant is the primary serving weapon for the Crimson Tide. Her 0.78 aces per set leads the conference and sits No. 3 in the country entering Friday.
Parant has the pleasure of assisting outside hitters Victoria Barrett and Sophie Agee. Barrett's 4.08 kills per set is the eighth-best average in the conference. Agee isn't far behind at 3.03.
Defensively, Alabama leans on middle blocker Sarah Stevens and libero Trinity Stanger. Stevens averages 1.16 blocks per set, while Stanger has delivered the sixth-most digs per set in the SEC at 4.06.
AUBURN-ALABAMA SERIES
In a series that dates back to 1974, Auburn owns a 40-50 record with its in-state rival, including a 19-19 mark at home. However, the Tigers have won eight of the last 10 meetings and head coach Brent Crouch is 7-1 against the Crimson Tide and nine versus South Alabama. Zimmerman has also hit north of .360 in three straight matches, including a season-high .556 against the Bulldogs.
