BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After a runner-up performance at the Turtle Point Invite, Auburn rookie Logan Reilly was named the Southeastern Conference’s Freshman Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.

At Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club, Reilly went extremely low, shooting 15-under with rounds of 68, 66 and 67 to miss out on medalist honors by a single shot. He finished six shots ahead of the nearest freshman.

Reilly’s final tally of 201 (-15) ties the seventh-best 54-hole score in program history. He joins teammate Jackson Koivun as just the second freshman to crack the top 10 over the last decade.

On the week, Reilly made just five bogeys and more than made up for it with 16 birdies and a pair of eagles. He was the only man in the 75-player field to eagle more than once.

Next, Reilly and the No. 1 Tigers head to Wilmington, N.C. for The Williams Cup, which is set to run Oct. 19-21 at Eagle Point Golf Club.
