AUBURN, Ala. – No. 16 Auburn men’s golf wraps up its fall season with one final outing at The Clerico, which is set for Oct. 27-28 at a challenging Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
“We’re excited for another chance to compete,” Tigers head coach Nick Clinard said. “We’ve had some bumps in the road and have faced some challenges this fall, so what I am really looking to see is who is going to respond in a positive way. We want to end the fall on a high note to set us up for a productive winter break.”
Auburn kicks off the Clerico playing alongside host Oral Roberts and No. 17 Oklahoma State. Junior Josiah Gilbert kicks off the 11-minute tee intervals at 8 a.m. CT off the first hole.
Suiting up alongside Gilbert are juniors Jackson Koivun and Cayden Pope, sophomore Billy Davis and freshman Jake Albert.
Other teams in the field include No. 11 New Mexico, No. 20 Texas Tech, RV Arizona, Marquette, Missouri, Northwestern, SMU and Washington.
The Tigers look to finish the fall with some positive momentum after a disappointing outing last week at The Williams Cup. As a team, Auburn finished ninth of 15. Koivun did earn his 23rd career top 10 with an even-par showing. Pope and Albert also finished inside the top 25.
Pope and Koivun each have a pair of top 20s to lead the roster. Koivun, Gilbert and Davis all have one top 10.
