TULSA, Okla. — No. 16 Auburn men's golf holds a one-shot lead at The Clerico following Monday's opening 36 holes at Southern Hills Country Club.
The Tigers shot rounds of even-par (280) and 3-under (277) to hold firm at 3-under overall, one shot better than No. 17 Oklahoma State.
Four of Auburn's starting five stand inside the top 10 heading into the final round. An eye-catching 6-under 64 in the afternoon saw junior Josiah Gilbert rise to second individually at 4-under. He trails Texas Tech's Connor Graham by one.
Also in contention are freshman Jake Albert (-1), junior Jackson Koivun (+1) and sophomore Billy Davis (+1). Junior Cayden Pope also turned in a respectable pair of 72s (+2) to stand 25th.
