AUBURN, Ala.—Auburn sophomore guard Tahaad Pettiford has been named to the Sporting News preseason third team All-America team, the publication announced Monday.
A preseason first team All-SEC selection, Pettiford has also been named to the NABC Division I Player of the Year Watch List, Oscar Robertson Trophy Preseason Watch List and the Bob Cousy Award Watch List.
The Jersey City, N.J., product was a SEC All-Freshman team member last season after averaging 11.6 points while dishing out 113 assists, the fourth most in school history by a freshman. Pettiford was also named to the NCAA South Regional All-Tournament team while helping the Tigers to the Final Four in San Antonio.
Auburn (2-0) hosts Wofford (1-1) at Neville Arena on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. CT. The game will air on the SEC Network+ platform.
