AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn juniors Avery Glynn and Sydney Swallom have been named SEC Riders of the Month for October, the conference office announced Thursday. Glynn received the honor on the Flat, while Swallom earned the recognition in Horsemanship.
This marks the second SEC Flat Rider of the Month honor for Glynn and the first conference monthly honor for Swallom. Both student-athletes were also named NCEA Riders of the Month for October in their respective events.
Glynn turned in a perfect 4-0-0 record on the Flat during October. She earned Most Outstanding Performer honors in the event during the Tigers’ road win over TCU, scoring a 94. Glynn added an 86-76 victory against Baylor, a 73-71 win over Texas A&M and an 82.5-73.5 triumph at SMU, where Auburn won on a raw-score total tiebreaker. She added another Flat victory during the Tigers’ most recent meet against South Carolina on Nov. 8.
Swallom also had a perfect first month of the season, going 4-0-0 in Horsemanship during October. She edged out a 77-76.5 win in the season opener against Baylor and earned MOP honors, with that ride also named the NCEA Western Ride of the Week. Swallom added another MOP performance in Auburn’s road win at TCU, where she posted a 76.5-75 victory. She followed with a crucial 77-76.75 win at SMU, helping the Tigers earn another raw-score tiebreaker victory. Swallom improved to 5-0-0 in Horsemanship after earning a 74.25-68 win over South Carolina on Nov. 8.
No. 2 Auburn will host top-ranked Georgia on Friday, Nov. 21, at the Auburn Equestrian Center.
