BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  — A staple in the Auburn and Lee County community, senior Zoe Slaughter has been named to the SEC Community Service Team, the conference announced Thursday. 

Slaughter has been a leader in the Auburn Community since her arrival on the Plains in 2022. This season, she has split her time between the East Alabama Food Bank and the local chapter of I Am My Brother’s Keeper. Providing a community-based after-school program for youth, grades 1-12, Slaughter has spent more than 20 hours this season mentoring and tutoring at local schools in the Lee County Area. 

She also spent an additional 15 hours with the East Alabama Food Bank. Last year alone, the East Alabama Food Bank provided over 4.5 million meals to families and individuals across the region. 

Including her dedication to volunteering, A two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient, Slaughter earned her Pilot’s license and is on track to becoming a commercial airline pilot after graduation.
