Carlton Davis III was a matchup nightmare for wide receivers this week, causing three pass breakups and allowing only a 28.6 completion percentage in the Patriots' win over the Bengals.
That and more from former Tiger defenders in this week’s Auburn Made NFL Rundown.
Carlton Davis III, CB, New England Patriots
Davis led the Patriots and registered season highs with eight tackles and three pass breakups, all coming in the fourth quarter, in the 26-20 win over the Bengals. With two pass breakups on back-to-back plays with 0:30 remaining in the game, he helped keep New England atop the NFL standings with a 10-2 record. Playing the third most snaps (64) in a game this season, the eighth-year-vet’s eight tackles were his most in a game since week one of last season and his three pass breakups were his most since week 15 of 2022. Davis allowed only two receptions on seven targets, holding the opposing quarterback to a 39.6 QBR. His PFF grades across the board were season highs and among NFL corners for the week ranked third in tackling (82.0), fourth in run defense (77.3), fifth in overall defense (88.7) and sixth in coverage (87.9). With 90 career pass breakups in 101 games played, Davis ranks eighth among active NFL players in the category.
Derick Hall, LB, Seattle Seahawks
Hall created the most pressures (eight) in his career in the Seahawks' 30-24 win against the Titans. The 2023 second-round pick played his most snaps (40) this season and added three more tackles, including his first sack of the year and ninth of his career, in the victory. Hall turned in the first pass breakup of his career late in the third quarter, and his second-down sack in the fourth quarter put the Titans behind the chains to help force an eventual turnover on downs and preserve a two-possession lead. Hall ranked third among NFL edge rushers with a PFF pass rush grade of 81.6 and coverage grade of 87.9 while also ranking fifth with a season-high and team-high overall grade of 91.1. Through 12 weeks of NFL action, he ranks sixth among edge rushers with a 27.6 percent win rate in true pass sets.
Jamien Sherwood, LB, New York Jets
Sherwood led the Jets and matched a season high with 13 tackles in this week's matchup against the Ravens, marking his sixth double-digit tackle performance of the year and 13th in the last two seasons. His 13 tackles were tied for the seventh most in the NFL for week 12, and the 2025 team captain also ranks tied for seventh in the league with 102 tackles on the season. After ranking tied for third in the league with 158 tackles last year, Sherwood’s 260 tackles in 28 games since the beginning of 2024 are the second most in the NFL. Through 12 weeks this season, the fifth-year pro's PFF run defensive grade of 83.7 is a career best and ranks 11th among all NFL linebackers.
Colby Wooden, DT, Green Bay Packers
Wooden and the Packers defense held the Vikings under 10 points for only the second time this season in the 23-6 victory. The third-year pro turned in his fifth game this season and third straight contest with four or more tackles, including three solo stops and a two-yard tackle for loss early in the fourth quarter. His tackle for loss marked his career-best sixth of the season, doubling his total from his first two years in the league, and he has is one tackle (36) shy of equaling his career total in his first two seasons. Through 12 weeks, Wooden has turned in career-high PFF grades in overall defense, run defense and pass rush.
