Q: What was your first visit to Auburn like? What about Auburn made you want to come here?
A: My first visit to Auburn was amazing. I instantly fell in love with the campus, the people, and the overall atmosphere. I knew I wanted to be a part of the Auburn family right away.
Q: How has the first semester of college been? What has been the most significant adjustment?
A: My first semester has been going great! The biggest adjustment I have had to make is just learning time management and being independent.
Q: Who is your biggest role model, and why?
A: My biggest role model is my dad because he is the hardest working, driven person I have ever met. He has taught me so much throughout my life and he makes me feel so loved.
Q: What Auburn traditions are your favorite, and why?
A: All the traditions here at Auburn were a big reason why I loved it so much. I love the eagle flight before football games, the chants, swag surfing, rolling Toomer's Corner, etc.
Q: What or who keeps you motivated on the hard days?
A: Reminding myself of my goals and the bigger picture helps keep me motivated. I also like talking to friends and family on hard days.
Q: How has the transition been from elite gymnastics to college gymnastics?
A: The transition has been good. I love how college gymnastics isn't as individualized as elite gymnastics is. It's definitely a team sport in the NCAA, which I love.
Q: What’s your favorite home-cooked meal?
A: My favorite home-cooked meal is my dad's steak. Steak is my favorite food, and he makes the best steaks I have ever had. It actually ruined steakhouses for me because when we go out to restaurants, I never like it as much as at home.
Q: What hobbies do you enjoy outside of gymnastics?
A: I love hanging out with my friends and family, singing and dancing to music, and shopping. Also, my family lives on a river so when I go home, I love going out on our boat and jet skis.
Q: What is your major? Why did you choose it?
A: My major is exercise science. I chose this because I want to be a physical therapist and it was a great option for me leading up to that.
Q: Do you have any gymnastics superstitions, and why?
A: Yes, I have a few random ones. I always put my grips on in the same order, I link my fingers before I mount the bar, I keep a quarter in my right tiger paw, and I like to use the same hair ties for every competition.
Q: If you could eliminate one event, which would you choose and why?
A: I honestly don't know what I would eliminate. I feel like they all are different and have their own pros and cons. It honestly depends on the day, but I would never eliminate bars.
Q: What are you most looking forward to this season? What are some of your goals?
A: I am looking forward to competing in Neville and experiencing the atmosphere with the team. I really want to compete in all 4 events and contribute to our team goals!
Q: What advice would you give younger students as they work hard to be collegiate gymnasts?
A: I would say to stick with it. It is going to get hard, and you will lose motivation sometimes, but just remind yourself what you are working so hard for and keep pushing! Also, have fun! It goes by so fast, so don't take it for granted.
Q: What is your biggest gymnastics pet peeve? Why?
A: My biggest gymnastics pet peeve is falling over on cast handstands and getting stuck in the pit.
Q: What was your dream job as a kid?
A: My dream job when I was little was to be a doctor because my dad is a doctor.
Q: If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
A: If I could have one superpower, it would be teleportation.
