AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn juniors Avery Glynn and Sydney Swallom have each earned Rider of the Month honors, the NCEA announced Wednesday. Glynn was named Flat Rider of the Month, while Swallom was tabbed Horsemanship Rider of the Month.
The monthly honor from the NCEA marks the first of Glynn’s career on the Flat and second overall. It is the first Rider of the Month honor of Swallom’s career.
Glynn had a perfect month on the Flat, posting a 4-0-0 record. She also earned Most Outstanding Performer honors in the event during the Tigers’ road win over TCU, where she scored a 94. She earned an 86-76 win against Baylor and a 73-71 win against Texas A&M. She also delivered an 82.5-73.5 victory at SMU, where Auburn won on a raw-score total tiebreaker.
Swallom also had a strong first month of the season, going 4-0-0 in Horsemanship. She edged out a 77-76.5 win in the season opener against Baylor and received MOP honors. That ride was also named the NCEA Western Ride of the Week. Swallom earned another MOP award during the Tigers’ road win at TCU, where she scored a 76.5-75 victory. She also had a crucial 77-76.75 win in a road meet at SMU that Auburn won on a raw-score total tiebreaker.
The No. 3 Tigers will host their SEC home opener at 11 a.m. Saturday against No. 2 South Carolina at the Auburn Equestrian Center.
