It's been a few months since I've been out in the circle. I 've been taking things slowly throughout the whole fall. It was able to come into the game, do what I do and get things going again. Seeing my defense work behind me just gave me the confidence piece I needed.

It was great to see SJ (Geurin) back in the circle and really just being steady. That was huge. I thought Abby (Herndon) did a great job of working ahead and doing her things. The pitchers have been working on a lot and are really trying to put things together. Abby is still a freshman. She is not coming in with all the innings behind her. She's still trying to figure things out, so I really felt like she did a great job.

We had some moments of not staying as locked into the game. Wallace State took advantage and hurt us in those moments. We've got to do a better job of playing a complete game and not allowing any windows like that, but that's tangible. It's something we feel like we can address as we continue to move on.

I'm stepping into a different role: being a leader, making sure I'm leading these girls the right way and staying positive. I just want to be the best I can for this team. Being in the leadoff position, I can set the tone and get the team going. With the way we attack offensively and defensively, that aggressiveness that we ended with tonight will help us build that same energy and momentum heading into tomorrow's finale.

Ma'Nia (Womack) is really learning how to adjust and work through some mental things. She's been challenged. She's willing. She really wants this. She's definitely shown this year that she wants to be that person. She's doing the extra work to make sure she's got at least a shot to do so. It's been great to see her lead in that regard. AnnaLea (Adams) was seeing the ball well. Daigle (Wilson) and Melania (Luostari) took advantage of their opportunities. Those two freshmen that have been working and really looking better. They are just staying the course. Alyssa (Hastings) looks good at shortstop. Haven Roebuck is another one that's done a good job of getting in there. She doesn't act like a freshman at the plate, and she's getting better and better on defense.
