Auburn Made: Week 16 NFL RundownAuburn Made: Week 16 NFL Rundown

Tank Bigsby found the endzone for the first time this season, while both Carlton Davis III and Jonathan Jones had season highs in tackles in a week dominated by defense from former Tigers.

That and more on this week’s Auburn Made NFL Rundown.

Tank Bigsby, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
Bigsby scored his first touchdown of the season in the Eagles’ NFC East-clinching win over the Commanders, breaking loose for a 22-yard score with 4:26 remaining in the fourth quarter to extend the lead to 19. The run was his longest of the day and second longest of the season. The former third-round pick totaled 37 rushing yards on just four carries, boosting his season average to a career-high 6.6 yards per attempt. Bigsby earned a PFF offensive grade of 83.8 and rushing grade of 82.2 for his efforts. Through 82 snaps this season, the third-year pro has racked up 262 rushing yards and improved his overall PFF grade to 88.1.

Derrick Brown, DL, Carolina Panthers
Brown registered his fifth sack of the season with a fourth-quarter takedown of Baker Mayfield that helped secure a 23–20 win over the Buccaneers, giving the Panthers the division lead with two weeks remaining. With 12:20 remaining, Brown’s sack stalled a promising Tampa Bay drive and forced a field goal, swinging momentum back to Carolina. The 2025 team captain finished with five total tackles, including three solo stops, and logged the 13th sack of his career. Brown now ranks 12th among 128 interior defenders with 5.0 sacks on the season. The sixth-year pro also improved his overall PFF grade to 73.6 and his pass rush grade to 71.0, ranking 17th and 26th, respectively, at his position.

Carlton Davis III, CB, New England Patriots
Davis anchored the Patriots’ defense with eight total tackles, including a season-high six solo stops, in a 28–24 comeback victory over the Ravens. The eighth-year veteran notched his third tackle for loss of the season, all coming in the last three games, and the 17th of his career. Davis improved his PFF run defense grade to 82.8, which ranks seventh among 108 qualifying cornerbacks, while his overall grade of 66.5 is 30th at the position. With the win, Davis and the Patriots clinched a playoff berth for the first time since 2021, marking the fourth postseason appearance of his career and second with a different franchise (Buccaneers).

Jonathan Jones, CB, Washington Commanders
Jones posted a season-high eight total tackles, including seven solo stops, against the Eagles on Saturday. The two-time Super Bowl champion delivered his best performance of the year, recording his most tackles in a game since signing with Washington and his highest single-game solo tackle total (seven) since Week 16 of the 2022 season with New England (eight). Jones also improved his PFF pass rush grade to 83.8, ranking 10th among 108 qualifying corners. Now in his 10th NFL season, Jones is Auburn’s second-longest tenured active NFL player, trailing only Chargers’ long snapper Josh Harris (14 seasons).

Jamien Sherwood, LB, New York Jets
Sherwood led the Jets’ defense in tackles for the ninth time this season and recorded his eighth game with 10 or more stops against the Saints (11). The 2025 team captain ranks seventh in the NFL in total tackles (140) and is tied for 13th in solo tackles (62), following a dominant 2024 campaign in which he finished third in total tackles (158) and second in solo tackles (83). Sherwood logged his eighth tackle for loss of the season, including his second sack of the year, a third-down stop that forced New Orleans to settle for a field goal. The 2024 Jets MVP earned a PFF defensive grade of 77.6 and posted a season-best run defense grade of 91.0, the highest mark of Week 16 at the position. He also improved his run defense grade to 84.5, ranking ninth among 86 qualifying linebackers.
