AUBURN, Ala. Auburn Men’s Basketball Associate Head Coach Ira Bowman has been recognized by Silver Waves Media on the 2026 100 Most Impactful: Men’s High Major Assistants.

Now in his eighth seasons on the Plains, Bowman has been an instrumental part of Auburn’s unprecedented success, which includes two runs to the Final Four, three SEC regular season titles and two SEC Tournament titles.

Since arriving at Auburn, Bowman has seen the Tigers compile a record of 186-69 and has helped guide the program to the AP No. 1 ranking in both the 2021-22 and the 2024-25 seasons.

Bowman was the 1996 Ivy League Player of the Year at Penn, then spent time playing professionally in the NBA with Philadelphia and Atlanta, along with playing overseas in Italy and Australia.

He was an assistant at his Alam Mater, Penn, for six seasons prior to joining Auburn, and also coached at NJIT prior to joining the staff at Penn.
