TAMPA, Fla. – Taylor Chism became the first member of Auburn soccer’s 2025 senior class to secure a professional contract Thursday, when she signed to play with Tampa Bay Sun FC, the reigning champion in the USL Super League.
“Signing my first pro contract means so much and is incredibly special, but it’s bigger than just me,” Chism said. “So many people, especially my parents, made sacrifices to help get me here, and I’m beyond grateful for that, which makes this moment just as much theirs as it is mine. I’m really excited to take this next step in my career and keep working.”
Chism spent her final season of eligibility on The Plains as a captain after playing three prior seasons at NC State. She was the Tigers’ Iron Woman last fall, starting all 18 matches and playing 1,554 minutes. Defensively, Chism helped Auburn hold all but four opponents to a single goal or less, which included six clean sheets. On the offensive end of the ball, she contributed with six points on two goals and two assists.
Tampa Bay begins its title defense campaign this weekend, hosting Spokane Zephyr on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 6:30 p.m. CT.
