BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the second week in a row, Auburn swept the Southeastern Conference’s weekly golf honors as Jackson Koivun was recognized as the Player of the Week and Jake Albert was recognized as the Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.

It is Koivun’s 11th all-time nod and Albert’s second.

Last weekend at the Gator Invitational, the duo combined to shoot 15-under-par and led the Tigers to a respectable second-place finish on No. 10 Florida’s home course.

Koivun won his second event in a row, piecing together rounds of 64, 69 and 68 (-9) to win by two. With the victory, the junior cemented himself as Auburn’s all-time leader in wins (7) and top-10 placements (26). He’s earned a top 10 in 84% of his collegiate starts.

Albert went 64-68-72 (-6) and finished tied for third. He outplayed the nearest freshman by three shots. It’s the second event in a row that Albert has been the top-performing rookie in the field.

Both men made 15 birdies on the Mark Bostic Golf Course, which ranked second amongst the 99-player field.

No. 2 Auburn returns to action March 1-3 at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas, Nevada.
