Auburn women host No. 24/25 Georgia Monday night

It's one of two remaining home games for Auburn women's basketball this season.

AUBURN, Ala.— Auburn begins the home stretch of the women’s basketball regular season Monday night when the Tigers host No. 24/25 Georgia at Neville Arena. Game time is 6:30 p.m. CT.

Fans arriving early can pick up a limited edition acrylic standup model of head coach Larry Vickers.

The Tigers (14-13, 3-10 SEC) look to build on their first road conference win of the season, a 71-58 victory at Missouri Thursday night that saw Auburn force Missouri into 30 turnovers, turning those into 29 points. 

Georgia (20-7, 6-7) will seek to bounce back after a tough home loss to No. 11 Oklahoma Thursday night. 

Tickets are available in advance by visiting AUBTix.com or via the Auburn Athletics app, and they will also be available for purchase at the arena ticket office on gameday. In addition, all Aubie’s Kids Club members receive free admission to all home women’s basketball games.

››     Auburn’s Kaitlyn Duhon dazzled for the second straight game, and the Tigers ended a road drought in league play with a 71-58 win at Missouri Thursday night.
››     Auburn never trailed and forced Missouri into 30 turnovers, turning those into 29 points to help the road Tigers withstand an outstanding shooting night from the home team.
››     Duhon’s 19 points led the Tigers for the second straight outing, and she also had seven rebounds and four steals to help lead the charge. Khady Leye added 13 points and Harissoum Coulibaly had 11. Mya Petticord added nine on three 3-pointers.

››     DeYona Gaston put together another stellar performance, but Auburn could not hold onto a fourth-quarter lead as Georgia rallied for a 62-59 win at Stegeman Coliseum.
››     The Tigers led by as many as nine points in the fourth and had a six-point lead with less than five minutes to go, but Georgia went on a 13-3 run to move ahead in the final two minutes.
››     Gaston scored 26 points with six rebounds and a pair of assists. Yuting Deng added 16 points, knocking down four 3-pointers on the night. Mar’Shaun Bostic dished out eight assists. Turnovers, especially late, proved to be the difference. Georgia scored 21 points off 17 Tiger turnovers, with nine of those points coming off six fourth-quarter giveaways. Both teams shot free throws well – Auburn at 84.6 percent (11-13) and Georgia at 79.2 percent (19-24).

››     Georgia is 20-7 overall, 6-7 in SEC play. The Lady Bulldogs are ranked No. 24 in the AP Top 25 and No. 25 in the Coaches’ poll.
››     Georgia averages 75.0 points per game and holds opponents to 60.8. 
››     Dani Carnegie leads Georgia in scoring (18.4 ppg) and rebounding (5.7/game). She is also third in the SEC in 3-pointers per game (2.8). Trinity Turner averages 5.0 assists per contest.

SCOUTING AUBURN 
››     Auburn is 14-13 on the year, 3-10 in SEC play.  The Tigers have SEC wins over Florida, Alabama and Missouri.
››     True freshman Harissoum Coulibaly averages a team-best 10.7 points per game; she has moved into the starting lineup for the bulk of SEC play. She was named SEC Freshman of the Week Dec. 23 after averaging 15.0 points in the two wins over MTSU and Alcorn. She also shoots a team-best 45.1% from the field. She led Auburn with 19 points, matching a season-best, in the win over Georgia State Nov. 17. She made a splash in her college debut Nov. 3 at Charlotte, scoring a team-leading 19 points with nine of those coming in the pivotal overtime period. She added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists vs. MVSU. 
››     Redshirt junior Kaitlyn Duhon averages 10.0 points per game and scored a career-high 23 points at Texas A&M (2/15). She followed that up with a 19-point, 7-rebound, 4-steal performance at Missouri (2/19). One of the top defenders in the SEC, she leads the Tigers with 3.2 steals per game, which ranks second in the SEC and 14th nationally. In SEC play, she averages 2.9 steals per game, second-best in the league. Duhon scored a then-career high 20 points and was 5-of-5 from 3-point range at Seton Hall Dec. 14. She also had a career-best 7 steals in the win over Cal on Nov. 26, then had 15 points and six steals at Syracuse Dec. 3. She matched her career-high in steals with 7 at Mississippi State on Jan. 1. 
››     Sophomore Khady Leye has been steady, averaging 8.8 points and a team-best 4.7 rebounds. Most recently, she recorded a career-high five blocks against Ole Miss on Feb. 2. Her 16-point, 9-rebound performance led the Tigers to a win over No. 21 Alabama Jan. 15. She scored a career-high 20 points in the win over MVSU, then she recorded her first Auburn double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds vs. Georgia State. She added a team-leading 14 points in the win over Rutgers Nov. 20 and matched that 14-point total against Tennessee Jan. 4.
››     Ja’Mia Harris scored 18 points with 7 rebounds at Florida (2/5). Her first matchup with the Gators, she flirted with a double-double, scoring 8 points with a career-high 9 rebounds in the win over Florida Jan. 11. She shared the team lead with 19 points and led the Tigers with 8 rebounds in the win at Charlotte Nov. 3, then scored 16 with four 3-pointers in the win over Alabama State. 
››     Mya Petticord, a senior transfer from Rutgers, matched a season high with 21 points, hitting 4-of-5 3s to lead Auburn in the win over Jackson State. She hit the game-winning shot against her former team, hitting a driving layup with 10 seconds left to clinch the Tigers’ win Nov. 20. She had her best game in two years with 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting (3-4 3FG) in the win over Alabama State. She followed that up with a team-leading 18 points (4-7 3FG) in the win over UNCG. 
››     Senior guard A’riel Jackson matched a career-high with 19 points and 5 assists vs. Oklahoma, knocking down three 3-pointers for the third time this season. She scored a then-season high 17 points, going 7-11 from the field and 3-3 from 3-point range to lead the Tigers in their win over Cal Nov. 26. Jackson knocked down three first-half treys, scoring 9 points with a team-best 4 assists vs. UNCG. She then had 8 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists against Alabama State. 
››     Sophomore Syriah Daniels dazzled in her first start of the season at MTSU, setting or matching career-highs with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks in the win. She also scored 10 points with four rebounds and two steals vs. MVSU. Daniels helped seal the win over No. 21 Alabama in the final seconds, taking a charge to give Auburn the ball back with a two-point lead. She led Auburn with 11 points off the bench vs. South Carolina.
››     Freshman Sania Richardson had the best game of her young career with 12 points in the win over Jackson State. She leads the Tigers in assists in SEC play with 1.8/game and had a career-high six assists, the most by an Auburn player this year, at Florida on Feb. 5.
››     6-9 redshirt freshmen Arek Angui notched her first career double-double with career-highs 11 points and 11 rebounds vs. Mississippi Valley State. She made her first appearance for Auburn against Alabama State Nov. 8 and pulled down a team-leading 8 rebounds along with 3 points. Originally from South Sudan, she played one season of high school basketball at Greenforest Academy in Georgia.
››     Senior guard Angena Belloso transferred from FIU where she played in 57 games the last 2 years. She scored a season-high 10 points, all in the second quarter, in Auburn’s game with Oregon Nov. 30.
››     Junior college transfer Clara Koulibaly had one of her best games of the year against LSU, leading the Tigers with a season-best 10 rebounds along with making her first career 3-pointer. She scored a season-high 5 points in the win at Missouri.

BACKCOURT BANDIT
››     With four steals in the Texas A&M game, Kaitlyn Duhon has moved into second place in single-season steals at Auburn. With four more at Missouri, she now has 87 this season.
››     Through games of Feb. 19, she is tied for the most steals by an SEC player this year with LSU’s MiLaysia Fulwiley. In SEC play, she has the second-most (38) behind only Texas A&M’s Ny’Ceara Pryor (46).

DEFENSE CREATING OFFENSE
››     Auburn forced Missouri into 30 turnovers in their 71-58 win Feb. 19 in Columbia. It tied for the most turnovers forced in a game this season, along with 30 forced in a win over UTSA on Nov. 24.
››     Auburn is 36-0 all-time when forcing 30 or more turnovers in a game.
››     The 30 turnovers at Missouri were the second-most all-time by an Auburn opponent in an SEC game.
