AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn senior DJ Bennett has been named SEC Player of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday. It marks the second time in her career Bennett has earned the honor, with her first coming Jan. 31, 2024.

Bennett led the Tigers to a shutout victory over No. 13 Michigan on Monday evening in Ann Arbor, earning the win from the top singles position. With the first set tied at 2, Bennett won four consecutive games to take the set against Piper Charney.

An early break in the second set helped Bennett build a 4-1 lead before she closed out the match 6-2, 6-3 on a deciding point over the nation’s third-ranked singles player. Shortly after Bennett’s straight-set victory, Auburn secured three additional singles wins to defeat the Wolverines 5-0.

Bennett and the Tigers will return to action Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in the first round of the ITA National Team Indoor Championship against Northwestern at the Combe Tennis Center in Evanston, Illinois.
