AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn women’s tennis achieved the highest ranking in program history Tuesday, appearing at No. 3 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association national rankings. The new ranking surpasses the previous program best of No. 4, which was achieved March 7, 2017; Feb. 20, 2025; and four times this season.

“It is a huge achievement for our program to be ranked third by the ITA,” Auburn head coach Jordan Szabo said. “This team continues to make program history, and it is a testament to the work ethic of each player and their dedication to the program. We believe that breaking this record is just the beginning of what Auburn women’s tennis plans to achieve this season, and this ranking reflects our belief that we’re a national contender.”

Auburn opened the season as the fourth-ranked team in the nation in the ITA preseason poll, dropped to No. 13 on Feb. 19, then moved up to No. 5 on March 3. The Tigers have also been in the top spot in all three UTR College Team Rankings polls released this season.

Auburn is 21-1 overall this season and has started conference play with five consecutive wins. The Tigers have defeated five teams ranked inside the ITA top 15 this season, including No. 4 LSU on the road Saturday. The team also qualified for the ITA National Team Indoor Championship for the fifth consecutive season earlier in the year, where the Tigers reached the semifinals with wins over Northwestern and No. 9 NC State.

The Tigers have won their last eight matches and hold a perfect home record of 13-0. No. 3 Auburn will return to action against No. 11 Tennessee on Thursday at 3 p.m. CT at the Yarbrough Tennis Center in Auburn, Alabama.
