AUBURN, Ala. – Head Coach Steven Pearl has named Brian Kloman as the new General Manager of the Auburn University men’s basketball program.

A veteran in the field of Player Personnel and Strategic Initiatives, Kloman joins Pearl’s staff from Louisville and worked directly alongside Pat Kelsey for the last 11 years.

“We are thrilled to welcome Brian Kloman to our program as our General Manager,” Pearl said. “Brian brings a unique combination of vision, energy and expertise that will immediately elevate our staff and strengthen our overall operation.

“He has been an integral part of Pat Kelsey’s success at every stop—from Winthrop to College of Charleston and now Louisville—helping build winning programs through relentless work ethic, innovation, and elite talent evaluation.”

Most recently, Kloman has helped reconstruct a Louisville roster that saw the Cardinals compile an overall record of 51-19 and two NCAA Tournament appearances after inheriting a team that was 8-24 the year prior to him arriving.

Kloman was instrumental in the recruitment of Mikel Brown Jr., one of the top freshmen guards in the country and a member of the ACC All-Freshman Team.

Prior to Louisville, Kloman was a member of Kelsey’s staff that went 75-27 at College of Charleston and 152-65 at Winthrop.

“What separates Brian is his ability to identify and assemble talent, build cohesive teams, and constantly find new ways to gain a competitive edge,” said Pearl. “He is a true go-getter with an innovative mindset, and his impact will be felt across every facet of our program.”

“The moment comes in life when you have an opportunity to do something you have always wanted to do, this is one of those moments,” Kloman said. “Serving Coach Pearl and this staff will be an absolute honor. Working everyday to make this Auburn Community proud will be on my mind every time I wake up on the Plains. Thank you to the Auburn administration, the basketball staff and Coach Pearl for this opportunity.”

Kloman joins an Auburn program that has won 20 or more games in five consecutive seasons and will join Pearl for his second season at the helm of the Tigers.

“We are excited to add Brian to the Auburn family and look forward to the tremendous value he will bring to our staff and student-athletes,” added Pearl.
