JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – Three Auburn individuals finished play Tuesday afternoon at the Georgia State Invitational at Rivermont Golf Club in Johns Creek, Georgia. Freshman Frances Brown was the highest finisher for Auburn, tying for 11th place.

Brown bounced back from an opening-round 4-over 76 by shooting a 1-under 71 in the second round Monday. In her final round, the Auburn freshman carded a 73 (+1) that included three birdies on the front nine. Brown notched her highest finish of the season.

Anne Fernandez shot 76 (+4) in the final round and finished tied for 20th with a 54-hole total of 224 (+8). The finish marks her fourth top-20 result of the season.

Senior Rachel Gourley finished at 13-over 229 and tied for 40th.

Tennessee’s Sophie Christopher took home the individual title, shooting 211 (-5).

Up next for Auburn is the SEC Championship at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida. The first three rounds of stroke play will take place April 17-19, with match play scheduled for April 20-21.
