AUBURN, Ala. – Tahaad Pettiford, one of the most dynamic point guards in the country, has announced his return to Auburn for his junior campaign in 2026-27.
Pettiford’s return adds to the growing momentum for the Tigers which also includes the return of veteran presence Kevin Overton, Sebastian Williams-Adams and Simon Walker.
Pettiford averaged 15.4 points and 3.8 assists per game as a sophomore and in the process became the 41st player in program history to join the 1,000-point club. Pettiford returns to Auburn with 1,025 career points and 258 assists.
The New Jersey native had 20 or more points in 13 games this season and has gone over 20 points 26 times in his career.
Pettiford had a career-high 30 points at Arizona in December while scoring 29 at Arkansas, 28 against Tennessee in the SEC Tournament and added 24 points and eight assists in the NIT championship game against Tulsa.
Pettiford returns as a veteran leader who has helped guide Auburn to a Final Four in 2025 and the NIT title in 2026.
