AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn men’s tennis has signed Swedish talent Patrik Munkhammer, head coach Bobby Reynolds announced on Monday. Munkhammer will join the Tigers in August ahead of the 2026-27 season.
“We’re incredibly excited to welcome Patrik Monkhammer to the Auburn Family this fall,” Reynolds said. “His results certainly speak for themselves, but what really stood out to me was his genuine love for competition. Patrik has played more matches over the past three years than just about anyone I’ve come across, and that competitive hunger is exactly what we value here at Auburn. He brings great size, high-level ball striking and a tremendous ceiling for growth. We believe his mindset and work ethic will make an immediate impact on our program.”
The Stockholm, Sweden, native currently holds an ITF singles ranking of No. 298 and reached a career high ATP singles ranking of No. 1259 in February. He also holds a career-high ATP doubles ranking of No. 1847, which was also achieved in February. As a junior, Munkhammer claimed two ITF Junior singles titles at the J60 Tirana in 2023 and the J60 Bastad in 2024 as well as three ITF Junior doubles titles.
In his home nation of Sweden, Munkhammer is the top-ranked junior player in the nation in both singles and doubles, ranked No. 30 nationally in singles and No. 33 in doubles. He holds a UTR (Universal Tennis Ranking) of 12.80.
Munkhammer will arrive on the Plains in fall 2026 along with fellow signees Duje Markovina and Alvaro Jimenez.
