AUBURN, Ala. – Head Coach Steven Pearl has announced the signing of Santa Clara center Bukky Oboye to join the Tigers for the 2026-27 season.
The 7-foot-1 center comes to Auburn after starting 34 games for a Broncos team that finished 26-9 overall last season and earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament. Oboye has two years of eligibility remaining.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Bukky Oboye into the Auburn Family,” Head Coach Steven Pearl said. “He’s one of the most physically gifted prospects you’ll find – an elite runner and leaper with rare size who impacts the game at the rim on both ends of the floor at such a high level.”
Oboye averaged 7.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and had a team-high 40 blocks as a redshirt sophomore. After redshirting as a true freshman, Oboye appeared in 61 total games during his time at Santa Clara.
A native of Houston, Texas, Oboye had 11 double figure scoring games last year with a season-high 22 points coming against Nevada.
“What stands out even more than his tools is his growth,” Pearl said. “He’s shown improvements every single day, and the more he plays the better he becomes. If Bukky stays on the path he’s been on, he has a chance to be a very special player on the Plains.”
Oboye is now the second 7-footer Pearl and the Tigers have signed this offseason, along with Narcisse Ngoy of France.
