AUBURN, Ala. – Head Coach Steven Pearl has announced the signing of 6-foot-8 sharp-shooter Adam Olsen of South Alabama to join the Auburn men’s basketball program for the 2026-27 season.
Olsen started 32 games for South Alabama last season as a junior and made a school-record 102 3-pointers while shooting 39.1 percent from long range. He averaged 16.7 points and 4.1 rebounds en route to Second Team All-Sun Belt honors.
“We’re incredibly excited to welcome Adam Olsen to our program,” Pearl said. “Adam has a what I’d call a super power—he’s one of the best 3-point shooters in all of college basketball. If he sees it, he can make it. At 6-foot-8 with a quick, high release, Adam will consistently get clean looks in an offense that has improved both makes and shooting percentages for our players year after year.”
Olsen scored in double figures 24 times last season including a Sun Belt leading 15 games of 20 or more points. He had a career-high 29 points against ULM.
A native of Surrey, B.C., Canada, Olsen spent 2023-24 and 2024-25 playing for the University of British Columbia. In 2024-25, Olsen averaged 15.0 points and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 42.0 percent from the floor.
Olsen was unavailable for South Alabama’s NIT game against Auburn on March 17, the one game he missed all season.
“Adam isn’t just one-dimensional. He’s a true three-level scorer who can knock down the mid-range shot and attack downhill, using his body to finish through contact at the rim,” said Pearl. “His ability to play multiple positions makes him a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses.”
