Keldric Faulk

AUBURN, Ala.  Inside the 2026 NFL Draft green room on Pittsburgh’s North Shore, Keldric Faulk wiped tears and hugged his mother after learning he had become Auburn’s first first-round draft pick in six years.

“I’m going through a roller coaster of emotions but it feels great to be a first-round draft pick,” said Faulk, wearing a burgundy tuxedo selected by his mother and fashion coordinator, Lakendral Barnes, after the Tennessee Titans selected him with the 31st overall pick.

Amid the whirlwind of congratulations, interviews and photo ops, Faulk took time to thank Auburn for helping him become the program’s first first-rounder since Derrick Brown and Noah Igbinoghene in 2020.

“Not just the coaches and teammates but everybody in that stadium and that city, the support they gave me,” Faulk said. “Every time I walked out into the city, it was always, ‘Thank you, Keldric,’ but it really should be, ‘Thank y’all,’ because y’all gave me the drive to keep going, keep fighting. Man, I love y’all.”

Faulk’s three seasons on the Plains will be remembered not only for his productivity but also his locker room leadership, how he sought to unite Auburn’s offense and defense amid adversity.

“I feel like I left commitment at Auburn,” he said. “I was committed to Auburn through everything. I left leadership. I left hard work and being great to people. I treated everybody at Auburn like they were my own family.”

Faulk’s fellow edge rusher Keyron Crawford was the second Tiger off the board, selected in Saturday’s third round by the Las Vegas Raiders, the No. 67 pick overall.

“This is the opportunity I needed,” said Crawford, tossing a new Raiders hat high into the air when the pick was announced. “I just needed one and Vegas was the one. I’m proud, I’m happy they gave me an opportunity. I know they’re going to develop and pour into me. I’m going to watch and study everybody in the building to be the greatest Keyron Crawford I can be.”

After two celebratory pool dives at his draft party in Decatur, Georgia, Crawford expressed appreciation for his two seasons on the Plains.

“Auburn was a switcher to help me become the player I am now,” he said. “They helped me evolve my career, they helped as far as the exposure. That person has always been there so It’s more the opportunity they gave me.”

A trio of Tigers got the call on Saturday, with offensive linemen Connor Lew and Jeremiah Wright selected within five picks of each other.

The Cincinnati Bengals selected Lew in the fourth round, No. 128, while the New Orleans Saints drafted Wright with pick No. 132.

“This is what I’ve dreamed about,” Lew said. “This is why I stuck with football through it all and what inspired me to keep going and keep working to get the opportunity to play in the NFL. One goal has been checked off but now it’s time for the next step and get to work.”

Like his NFL-bound former teammates, Lew expressed gratitude for Auburn’s role in helping him achieve his dream.

“All the people who poured into me and my development as a football player and also as a person off the field,” said Lew, a three-year starter at center. “I’m forever grateful for the people there and thankful for the sacrifices. I’m always going to keep Auburn as a part of me.”
