AUBURN, Ala. – Shooting guard Kevin Overton has announced his return to the Auburn University men’s basketball program for his senior season in 2026-27.
Overton, who was named the NIT’s Most Outstanding Player, had a breakout season in his first year on the Plains by averaging 14.1 points per game while shooting 45 percent from the floor and 41.3 percent from long range.
Overton led the Tigers in scoring during Auburn’s run to the NIT title by averaging 18.6 ppg and shooting 53.7 percent from behind the arc (22-of-41) in five contests.
The Oklahoma City, Okla., native scored 20 or more points in 11 games this season with a career-high 29 against NC State along with 26 in the NIT championship game against Tulsa which included the game-tying three to send it overtime and the dagger 3-pointer to secure the win in OT.
Overton made 95 3-pointers this season, which is the seventh most in a single season at Auburn while boasting a 41.3 shooting percentage from deep.
