WICHITA, Kan. – Sophomore catcher Chase Fralick has been named a semifinalist for the 2026 Buster Posey Award, the Wichita Sports Commission announced Monday.

Fralick is one of 16 semifinalists for the award, including four from the Southeastern Conference. A complete list of semifinalists can be found here.

Through the regular season, Fralick has turned in career highs in numerous offensive categories including runs (42), home runs (13) and RBI (42), ranking second on the team in the latter two. Auburn’s backstop in 43 of 54 games played, he has hit .320 with a .425 on-base percentage.

Earlier this season, Fralick homered in five consecutive games from Apr. 24-May 2, becoming the first Auburn player since Tim Lemons in 1985 to accomplish the feat. He capped off his torrid stretch with his first career multi-homer effort at Texas A&M.

Behind the plate, the Peachtree City, Georgia, native has turned in a .996 fielding percentage and has caught seven would-be base stealers.

Fralick and the No. 6 Tigers (36-18, 17-13 SEC) start postseason play at the SEC Tournament Wednesday, playing the winner of Tuesday’s game between Oklahoma (32-20, 14-16 SEC) and LSU (29-27, 9-21 SEC) at approximately 8 p.m. CT.
