AUBURN, Ala. – No. 6 Auburn women’s golf will continue its quest for the program’s first national championship this week at the NCAA Championship at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa Champions Course in Carlsbad, California. The tournament will be held Friday through Wednesday and will feature 72 holes of stroke play followed by three rounds of match play.

“It’s a great location and we stay on property, so everything is very convenient from that standpoint,” Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said about Omni La Costa. “The first year we played there, the greens were rock hard, but since then they have softened and are more receptive. It doesn’t seem that they’ve changed the yardages that much, and it doesn’t play that long. It’s more about precision. Only two or three drivers off the tee every round. You’re usually hitting hybrid or 3-wood to keep it in the fairway because the rough is thick and very penalizing.”

Auburn qualified for the NCAA Championship for the 22nd time in program history after winning the NCAA Simpsonville Regional by six strokes at 17 under (847). The win set a program record for most tournament victories in a season with six.

Anna Davis will enter the championship coming off medalist honors at the regional, where she fired a 10-under 206. The Auburn junior and All-SEC honoree has won three tournaments this season: the Tar Heel Invitational, the Nanea Invitational and the NCAA Simpsonville Regional. Davis has six career wins, the most in program history.

The Auburn starting five will remain the same as it was during regionals: Davis, Molly Brown Davidson, Charlotte Cantonis, Katie Cranston and Carys Worby. Auburn sophomore Balma Dávalos will also travel with the team as the sixth player. Substitutions are permitted between rounds.

Auburn has a strong history at the NCAA Championship, reaching the national semifinals in 2019 and 2022, as well as the quarterfinals in 2021 and 2024. The program’s highest finish came in 2002, when the Tigers were national runner-up.

All 30 teams that qualify for the NCAA Championship will participate in three rounds of stroke play Friday through Sunday. After round three, the top 15 teams and nine individuals not on an advancing team will make the 54-hole cut and play the final round of stroke play Monday, when the individual national champion will be crowned.

The top eight teams after Monday’s round will advance to match play. The national quarterfinals and semifinals will take place Tuesday, with the championship match scheduled for Wednesday.

BabyGrande Golf will provide streaming coverage of the first three rounds of stroke play before Golf Channel picks up coverage Monday through Wednesday. Golf Channel will broadcast Monday’s final round of stroke play from 4:30-8:30 p.m. CT, Tuesday’s quarterfinals from 12-2:30 p.m. CT and semifinals from 5-9 p.m. CT, and Wednesday’s championship match from 5-9 p.m. CT.
