COLUMBUS, Ga. – For the third straight season, Auburn’s own Jackson Koivun has been named a top 10 finalist for the Fred Haskins Award presented by Stifel, the Haskins Foundation and Golf Channel announced Friday.

In alphabetical order, this year’s finalists are Kihei Akina (BYU), Paul Chang (Virginia), Mahanth Chirravuri (Pepperdine), Ryder Cowan (Oklahoma), Tom Fischer (Ole Miss), Ben James (Virginia), William Jennings (Alabama), Jackson Koivun (Auburn), Christiaan Maas (Texas) and Preston Stout (Oklahoma State).

James and Stout are also finalists for this year’s Ben Hogan Award, alongside Koivun.

Dating back to 1971, the Haskins Award is given annually to the top male U.S. collegiate golfer as voted on by only college golfers, coaches and members of the golf media. Past winners of the Haskins have captured 33 major championships and more than 400 professional tournaments around the world.

Two years ago, Koivun became the first-ever Auburn player and the first freshman in 12 years to win the Haskins. A win this season would see Koivun become the award’s first multi-time winner in 34 years.

Three men have won the Haskins more than once: Texas’ Ben Crenshaw (1971, 72, 73), BYU’s Bobby Clampett (1979, 80) and Arizona State’s Phil Mickelson (1990, 91, 92).

Voting opens on Friday, May 22, and ends on Monday, June 1, after the completion of the stroke play portion of the NCAA Championship. Current Division I players, coaches, past Haskins winners, men's golf SIDs and select college golf media members are eligible to vote for the Haskins Award.

Live access to the voting ballot begins Friday at 9 a.m. CT.
