SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Auburn women’s golf alum Megan Schofill earned her first career Epson Tour victory Sunday, claiming the title at the Carlisle Arizona Women’s Golf Classic at TPC Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Arizona. Schofill won the event with a 72-hole score of 273 (-11), securing a one-stroke victory.
“I made a really nice par, finally hit a good approach shot on 11 and then made a great birdie on 12 that put the momentum in my favor,” Schofill said of her final round. “I started hitting some nice golf shots, and a long putt on the 15th hole really propelled me. After the 11th hole, I felt that if I kept playing well, I would have a chance to win.”
“Coming down 18, I really was hoping I would hit the green and not have to chip, but I had to chip twice. Amari (Avery) kind of gave me the read, so I felt pretty good over the putt, but I definitely was very nervous. I just really wanted to close it out and did not want to have a playoff.”
Schofill opened the event with a 4-under 67 on Thursday, followed by rounds of 71 (E), 66 (-5) and 69 (-2). The 2024 Auburn graduate carded seven birdies in her third round and took a two-stroke lead into Sunday.
In the final round, Schofill made a birdie on the par-3 15th hole to take a one-shot lead over runner-up Amari Avery. She then responded to a bogey on No. 17 with a par on the final hole to secure the one-shot victory.
Schofill earned 500 Race for the Card points with the victory, moving her to second in the Epson Tour standings. The Epson Tour is the official qualifying tour of the LPGA, where players earn LPGA Tour membership through the Epson Tour's Race for the Card. 15 LPGA cards will be distributed to the top points earners each season.
In her rookie season in 2025, Schofill made 17 starts, recording 14 cuts and three top-10 finishes. In 2026, she has made five starts, making four cuts with two top-10 finishes.
Schofill competed for Auburn from 2019-24 and established herself as one of the top players in program history. She earned All-SEC honors all five years on the Plains and was named a first-team WGCA All-American in 2023. Schofill also became the first Auburn golfer to win the U.S. Women’s Amateur in 2023
