LEXINGTON, Ky. – Transitioning to the level of play in the Southeastern Conference came second nature for Auburn softball shortstop Alyssa Hastings as the junior was named to the All-SEC Second Team by the league’s head coaches on Friday.
The All-SEC Teams consist of 25 student-athletes on the First Team, 26 student-athletes on the Second Team and a nine-member All-Defensive Team. All awards were chosen by the league’s head coaches, and no ties were broken.
Hastings is Auburn’s 46th overall All-SEC honoree and marks the second consecutive season that a Tiger has earned all-conference recognition, joining her teammate AnnaLea Adams (First Team All-SEC; 2025).
The Lipscomb transfer was Auburn’s most consistent hitter across league action as she topped the team in batting average (.307), slugging percentage (.547) and on-base percentage (.402) against conference foes.
Hastings totaled 23 hits, which led the team, and scored 10 runs in SEC play. Ten of her 23 hits went for extra bases as she slugged six doubles and four home runs. She was also the only Tiger to finish with double-digit RBI in league action with 17.
The Huntsville, Alabama, native had a knack for getting on base as she drew 12 walks. One of the tougher outs in the lineup, Hastings struck out just seven times across her 75 SEC at-bats, which was the fewest among all of Auburn’s starters.
Defensively, Hastings was smooth at shortstop. She tallied 50 assists and 20 putouts while committing just one error for a .986 fielding percentage.
Hastings’ SEC highlights included delivering the walk-off double in the 13th inning to secure Auburn’s series win over Kentucky. Hastings also delivered the game-winning double versus Ole Miss. In game two against the Rebels, she drove in seven runs, which tied for the second most recorded in a single game by a Tiger in program history. The feat was last accomplished by Tannon Snow at Tennessee on April 6, 2019.
Earlier this week, Hastings was also named to the SEC Community Service Team.
