AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn All-American Jackson Koivun added another bullet point to his resume as he was named Golfweek’s 2026 Amateur Player of the Year on Friday.
As a junior, Koivun won six times in 14 starts and led the Tigers to their second national championship in three seasons. In addition to his six wins, Koivun added eight top fives, 12 top 10s and a 68.20 scoring average, which broke Colin Morikawa’s single-season NCAA record by more than four tenths of a stroke.
After sweeping the Haskins, Hogan and Nicklaus awards this spring, Koivun made history as the first man in the history of the sport to win all three more than once. He was named a First Team All-American by PING and Golfweek, as well as First Team All-SEC and a three-peat winner of SEC Golfer of the Year.
Earlier Friday morning, Koivun announced that he will forego his final season of collegiate eligibility to join the PGA Tour this summer.
