SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. – Auburn’s Jackson Koivun and Logan Reilly taste major championship competition this week as both men will tee off in the 2026 U.S. Open, set for June 18-21 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York.
Koivun, the world’s No. 1 amateur, will tee off the first hole at 7:25 a.m. CT alongside Sahith Theegala and Michael Kim. Reilly will go off the 10th hole at 7:47 a.m. CT with Greyson Leach and Robbie Higgins.
As the recipient of the 2025 Mark H. McCormack Medal, Koivun received an exemption into the U.S. Open as an amateur. It will be his final showing as an amateur before turning pro at the John Deere Classic in early July.
This week marks Koivun’s second consecutive U.S. Open start. He appeared at Oakmont last year, where he shot 8-over to narrowly miss the cut. After that missed cut, he made four consecutive on Tour, all of which resulted in a T11th finish or better.
Reilly punched his ticket to Shinnecock with a 68-67—135 showing in his final qualifier at Woodmont Country Club on June 8. This week will be his first major appearance.
Both men played pivotal roles in Auburn capturing its second national title earlier this month. The duo combined to go 5-1 in match play to see the Tigers past No. 15 Stanford 3-1-1, No. 5 Oklahoma State 5-0 and No. 23 UCLA 4-1.
In what was later announced as his final season of college golf, Koivun earned six wins, 12 top 10s and averaged 68.20 strokes per round to set a new NCAA record. He concluded his Auburn career as a three-time First Team All-American.
Reilly, one of the program’s brightest and most talented young players, burst onto the college scene with an impressive season of his own. The Lovettsville, Virginia product paired a 70.84 scoring average with one top five and five top 10s to earn SEC All-Freshman Team honors. Reilly was also the only Tiger on the roster to go undefeated (5-0) in match play this season. He notably clinched the championship point for Auburn in the NCAA final when he bested the Bruins’ Alex Papayoanou 1-up by winning the 18th hole of their match.
NBC, USA and Peacock are set to provide live coverage of the 2026 U.S. Open throughout the weekend. Golf Channel will provide pre- and post-round analysis, highlights and interviews.
