AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn men’s golfer Tyler Spielman and Auburn women’s golfer Carys Worby have been named to their respective SEC Community Service Teams, the conference office announced Wednesday.
Spielman gives back to his team and his community through his efforts with Auburn's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Tiger Wings Launchpad. As his team's SAAC representative, Spielman attends regular meetings to advocate for the needs of his peers. He also volunteers at various SAAC special events, which are designed to set Auburn students up for success after graduation. With the Tiger Wings Launchpad, Spielman spent time with the youth of the Auburn-Opelika community in the after-school program, serving as a mentor who taught the children the importance of hard work and dedication to your craft.
Athletically, Spielman appeared in three tournaments this season. His best outing was a T16th finish at the Thomas Sharkey Individual in February.
Worby served Auburn student-athletes as a freshman experience coordinator through the Auburn University Connect Program. In this role, Worby led a cohort of 50 freshman student-athletes, helping them integrate into life at Auburn through mentorship. She also coordinated student-athletes for the "Christmas for the Elderly", organizing creation and distribution of over 300 holiday wreaths across the Auburn community.
Worby assisted in the collection of over 600,000 pounds of food for the annual "Beat Bama Food Drive" and volunteered at local elementary schools, where she led reading sessions for students to promote literacy.
This season, Worby participated in nine events for the Tigers, notched two top-20 individual finishes and recorded 56 birdies.
