CARLSBAD, Calif. – Auburn standout Jackson Koivun collected his second national player of the year honor this season on Tuesday, as he was named the recipient of the 2026 Fred Haskins Award presented by Stifel.

Koivun becomes the fourth multi-time winner in the award’s history, joining Texas’ Ben Crenshaw (1971, 72, 73), BYU’s Bobby Clampett (1979, 80) and Arizona State’s Phil Mickelson (1990, 91, 92).

He is also the first player in college golf history to win multiple Haskins and Hogan awards.

Koivun has made his case for national player of the year an undeniable one as he’s earned six wins in 10 starts since February, setting Auburn’s career wins record and tying the conference’s career wins record in the process.

The junior from Chapel Hill, North Carolina has made a program single-season record 196 birdies and carded 33 of 40 rounds at par or better while averaging 68.20 shots per round. Thirteen of his 14 starts this season have resulted in a top 10 or better.

At the stroke play portion of this week’s NCAA Championship, Koivun shot 7-under to lead the Tigers to the No. 1seed in match play for the first time in program history.

Dating back to 1971, the Haskins Award is given annually to the top male U.S. collegiate golfer as voted on by only college golfers, coaches and members of the golf media. Past winners of the Haskins have captured 33 major championships and more than 400 professional tournaments around the world. Former recipients include Scott Verplank (1983), Tiger Woods (1996), Russell Henley (2010), Justin Thomas (2012), Maverick McNealy (2015), Sahith Theegala (2020), Chris Gotterup (2022) and David Ford (2025), among others.
