Semifinal Bound: No. 1 Auburn defeats Stanford in NCAA Quarterfinals

CARLSBAD, Calif. – The top-seeded Auburn Men’s Golf team moved one step closer to the ultimate prize Tuesday with a 3-1-1 victory over No. 15 Stanford in the NCAA Quarterfinals at the Omni LaCosta Champions Course.

Freshman Logan Reilly buried a long putt on the 8th hole to clinch his match, 2&1, and secure the victory for the No. 1 Tigers. 

Reilly, Jake Albert and Josiah Gilbert were responsible for Auburn’s three wins in match play. Albert was first to clinch with 6&5 victory over Ethan Gao, and Gilbert followed suit shortly after, winning his match 3&2. 

The Tigers will move on to the NCAA Semifinals on Tuesday afternoon where they will face No. 5 Oklahoma State. Both semifinal matches will be televised on Golf Channel. Live scoring is available at scoreboard.clippd.com
