Auburn to face Middle Tennessee on Dec. 15 in Rocket City Classic

The Auburn University men’s basketball team continues to add to its non-conference schedule with the announcement of the Rocket City Classic vs. Middle Tennessee on Dec. 15 at VBC Propst Arena in Huntsville.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Auburn University men’s basketball team continues to add to its non-conference schedule with the announcement of the Rocket City Classic vs. Middle Tennessee on Dec. 15 at VBC Propst Arena in Huntsville.

“We are excited to return to Huntsville and play in front of the Auburn family,” head coach Steven Pearl said. “This is a tremendous opportunity to compete at a neutral site against a perennially competitive program in Middle Tennessee. I have great respect for Coach (Nick) McDevitt and I know he will have his team ready to play.”

The fourth annual Rocket City Classic presented by Akima is the first game in the series between the Tigers and Blue Raiders. Tickets for the game go on sale to the general public June 10.  

This is Auburn’s second time participating in the Rocket City Classic. The Tigers defeated UNC Asheville 87-62 in the inaugural Rocket City Classic on Dec. 13, 2023.

The Middle Tennessee game adds to a non-conference schedule with previously announced matchups against Wisconsin and West Virginia. The full non-conference schedule will be revealed later this summer.

Auburn 2026-27 non-conference schedule:

Nov. 17 – vs. West Virginia – Las Vegas, Nev. (Players Era 8)

Nov. 18 – vs. Kansas or UNLV – Las Vegas, Nev. (Players Era 8)

Nov. 19 – vs. TBA – Las Vegas, Nev. (Players Era 8)

Dec. 15 – vs. Middle Tennessee – Huntsville, Ala. (Rocket City Classic)

Dec. 19 – vs. Wisconsin – Nashville, Tenn.
