GREENSBORO, N.C. – Led by head coach Butch Thompson, Auburn baseball was named a recipient of the American Baseball Coaches Association’s 2025-26 Team Academic Excellence Award.
It marks the third straight season Auburn has earned the recognition, and the Tigers are one of nine Southeastern Conference programs to earn the distinction.
The award honors high school and college programs coached by a current ABCA member that achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the 2025-26 academic year.
The Tigers turned in a program-record 3.30 GPA for 2025-26, marking the second straight academic year with a program record GPA. Additionally, 18 players were named to the 2026 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll and 12 more were named to the 2025-26 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll.
